Los Angeles addresses for mail forwarding

Prices are per month for the address and mail handling. Mail scanning and live answering are optional add-ons.

How forwarding works, step by step

When a letter or package arrives at your Los Angeles address it is logged to your online account with a photo of the envelope, so you can see who it is from before deciding anything. Choose Forward and give the destination, or set a default forwarding address and shipping speed in your account.

You can select several items and send them together in one envelope or box, so you pay postage once instead of once per letter.

Forwarding or scanning?

Forwarding sends you the paper original. Scanning sends you a digital copy of the contents and keeps the original safe until you decide. Many businesses scan most mail and forward only the originals they need, such as checks, signed documents or packages. You can mix both on the same account.

If you are not in Los Angeles, a Los Angeles address plus forwarding lets you show a local address to customers while running the business from anywhere.

What your plan includes

  • A real street address in an office building, with your own private mailbox (PMB) number. Not a P.O. box.
  • Every letter and package logged to your online account the day it arrives, with a photo of the envelope.
  • Per item, you choose: open and scan, forward, hold for pickup by appointment, or shred.
  • Several items can be forwarded together in one shipment, so you pay postage once.
  • Up to three extra people you authorize can pick up mail for you; each completes their own USPS Form 1583.
  • Month-to-month plans with no long-term contract.

Questions about mail forwarding in Los Angeles

How much does mail forwarding cost?

Forwarding is charged per shipment: the actual postage plus a markup and a handling fee, shown on this page for each address. Combining several items into one shipment means you pay the handling fee and postage once.

How long is mail kept if I do not forward it?

Items are stored free for a set number of days (shown below), then a daily storage fee applies. You can forward, pick up or shred items at any time from your account.

Do I have to fill out USPS Form 1583?

Yes. Federal postal rules require every person who receives mail at a commercial mail receiving agency (CMRA) to complete PS Form 1583 and show a current primary and a secondary form of identification. Since May 2024 the signature has to be confirmed in person or over a live video call with the CMRA, or acknowledged before a notary. You complete it during sign-up, and each person you authorize to pick up mail completes their own.
